Building upon the strengths of research institutions in the Lower Mekong Region and other academic partners worldwide, the initiative is establishing a network of knowledge development partners and supporting cross-disciplinary and cross-border research collaborations that will promote the study of particular sustainable development questions in the context of the region’s larger natural bio-physical and socio-economic systems.

Delta Research and Global Observation Network (DRAGON) Institute, Can Tho University, Viet Nam 

Delta Research and Global Observation Network (DRAGON) institute of Can Tho University is a member of the global DRAGON Network, based on the Mekong River Delta. DRAGON network is established to serve the cooperating and long-termed experience-sharing relationship between Mekong Delta and Mississippi Delta. Its ACTIVITIES strengthen THE adaptive ability of human beings to natural disasters, stably developing the socio-economy and preserving the natural eco-system.


Faculty of Agriculture (FOA), National University of Laos (NUOL), Laos 

Faculty of Agriculture (FOA) is part of the National University of Laos (NUOL). Its research consists of crop production, plant protection, climate change adaptation, natural resource uses and management, agricultural policies etc.

Using a multidisciplinary approach to studying public policy, HKS prepares practitioners to tackle complex problems that require novel approaches and non-traditional alliances among leaders from government, civil society and business. Housed at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, the HKS Vietnam Program is an influential participant in policy discussions that are shaping Vietnam’s ongoing transformation. Its flagship initiative, the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program (FETP), is a leading center of public policy teaching and research located in Ho Chi Minh City.  FETP uses innovative research on the socioeconomic challenges facing Vietnam to engage in policy dialogue with the government and infuse its teaching with real-world insights and an intellectual vibrancy that sets it apart among Vietnam’s institutions of higher education.  

Mekong Delta Development Research Institute (MDI), Can Tho University (CTU), Viet Nam 

The Mekong Delta Development Research Institute (MDI) is an interdisciplinary training and research organization of Can Tho University (CTU). The Institute focuses on four research programs: (1) food security, (2) agricultural resource management, (3) rural development, and (4) climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Established in 2012, Mekong Development Center (MDC) provide high-quality consulting services in areas of social and environmental topics for private and public clients in Lao PDR and beyond. Their services cover social studies, social and environmental assessment and monitoring, water resources management and rural development.
