Our Partners

Building upon the strengths of research institutions in the Lower Mekong Region and other academic partners worldwide, the initiative is establishing a network of knowledge development partners and supporting cross-disciplinary and cross-border research collaborations that will promote the study of particular sustainable development questions in the context of the region’s larger natural bio-physical and socio-economic systems.

National Economic Research Institute (NERI), Laos 

The National Economic Research Institute (NERI) was established in 1997 as a strategic research institute under the supervision of the Committee for Planning and Investment (CPI). CPI has recently become the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). As a think-tank of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, NERI's main functions are to formulate the long-term provincial, regional, and national socio-economic development strategy.


Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL), University of California Berkeley

The Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL) is a unique col­lab­o­ra­tion of schol­ars, activists, pol­icy mak­ers, com­mu­nity groups and industry lead­ers engaged in research, development, project implementation, and community outreach.


Research Centre for Rural Development (RCRD), An Giang University, Viet Nam 

The Research Center for Rural Development (RCRD) is a research unit of An Giang University. RCRD’s objectives are to design, organize and perform research in the fields of rural development and environmental management in order to meet the challenges of climate change in the Mekong Delta.  


Sustainable Mekong Network Research (SUMERNET), Thailand 

The Sustainable Mekong Research Network (SUMERNET) is an initiative for research and policy engagement bringing together research partners working on sustainable development in the countries of the Mekong Region: Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam.


Tra Vinh University (TVU), Viet Nam 

Tra Vinh University is a public university. Working with government services, institutes, and international associations etc. to provide high-quality human resources training, services and jobs for people, the university makes its contribution to cultural and socio-economic developments of Tra Vinh province and that of Mekong delta.
