Promoting sustainable development outcomes in the Lower Mekong region presents scientific, management and governance challenges. Project activities are designed to advance a sophisticated understanding of the water-food-energy nexus and to help meet regional decision-makers’ need for research-driven policy analysis in support of sustainable development goals.

Consultative Workshop, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

LMPPI team including Dr. Chu Thai Hoanh, Dr. Dang Kim Son, Dr. Malcolm MacPherson, Ms. Le Thi Quynh Tram, and Dr. Le Viet Phu traveled to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 24 July 2015 to meet two research teams at Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI).

LMPPI team members including Dr. Rainer Asse and Dr. Le Viet Phu attended Cuu Long 1 inception workshop to officially launch the project on livelihood management in the floodplain in An Giang on 26 March 2015.

LMPPI team participated in the SUMERNET Annual Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand from 10-12 February 2015 where research partners, research mentors, boundary partners, members of SUMERNET Steering Committee (SSC), policy actors and experts, donors and media gathered to share their knowledge and experience to catalyze discussion on key strategic sustainable development.
