Promoting sustainable development outcomes in the Lower Mekong region presents scientific, management and governance challenges. Project activities are designed to advance a sophisticated understanding of the water-food-energy nexus and to help meet regional decision-makers’ need for research-driven policy analysis in support of sustainable development goals.

LMPPI held its Inception Workshop on 13 and 14 November 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Participants from Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Viet Nam and the United States attended this two-day event.

In March 2014, LMPPI staff organized a fieldtrip with Mekong Delta Development Research Institute (MDI) of Can Tho University (CTU) to visit Soc Trang, a coastal province in Mekong Delta of Viet Nam.
